Erwin Blumenfeld is one of the great masters of photography of the nineteenth century, his works ranging from the ambit of fashion to the commercial until the most intimistic. His passion for painting and experimentation in the darkroom have contributed to an important innovation process that has affected the art color shots, but also those in black and white.

The huge Blumenfeld's passion for classical and modern painting are translated into a representation of the woman as a femme fatale, but never forget to give it a touch of naturalness that gives it a disarming charm. Although there is no formal link, his art is greatly influenced by important influence of the surrealist movement.

After the end of the war Blumenfeld moved to Paris and his works hit the affirmed photographer Cecil Beaton, who helped him to have a contract with French Vogue. Probably was from this meeting that subsequent collaborations with Harper's Bazaar and Vogue America arose, transforming him in the most coveted art director of photography cosmetic.
