Bisazza, the world's leading company in creating mosaics for interior and exterior and in the design sector, opened a Foundation dedicated to the design and contemporary architecture in Montecchio (Vicenza). The project was created with the intention of becoming an exhibition space for the collection of works and installations produced by designers and architects that in the last twenty years have dominated the international scene.
The Bisazza Foundation has numerous collaborations with the most prestigious international institutions that allow it to establish itself as a cultural interest point and to present projects always evolving and innovative in the world of architecture and design. The spaces owned by the Foundation, once used for production, have been restored and rehabilitated to be dedicated to the exhibition according to the project of architect Carlo Dal Bianco.
A part of the Foundation hosts a permanent exhibition consisting of installation signed by designers such as Studio Job, Alessandro Mendini, Andrée Putman, Arik Levy and Patricia Urquiola offering a new vision of the use of mosaic in the design world.
The cultural commitment of Bisazza, however, intends to go beyond the borders of the mosaic to open up the world of architecture and design in general. In this regard, until July 28th 2013, the Foundation host the exhibition "Richard Meier - architecture and design" to celebrate fifty years of activity of the architect.
The exhibition, developed in collaboration with the study of RMP New York, collects some sketches, renderings, photographs and design objects and other less known and other best known as the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Smith House in Connecticut and Perry Street Tower. For the occasion, the architect has also presented an unpublished work: a new installation dedicated to the art of mosaic and destined to become part of the permanent collection Bisazza.
