Art on the Underground has announced that Daniel Buren is the artist selected to create the new permanent installation at the Metro station of Tottenham Court Road in London. Buren will create a series of large colored geometric shapes that will be fixed to walls of glass inside the station.
The colored forms will be made of vinyl to allow the passage of light. Buren's work is the second to be installed in the station after the mosaic of Eduardo Paolozzi 1984 parts of which are still restored and preserved inside the station.
