The structure of The Temple Hotel Beijing has spanned more than 600 years of history, commissioned in 1600 by Emperor Kangxi was a place of worship and residence of many prominent figures in the Buddhist tradition. The civic buildings were built after the founding of the People's Republic of China and used as a gathering place during the Cultural Revolution.

The hotel currently includes areas dedicated to the exposition of works of art and halls for events in addition to a park and outdoor art installations created by contemporary artist created by the contemporary Chinese artist Wang Shugang.
The common areas are dotted with amazing discoveries such as the lounge, housed in a room behind the main temple decorated with artworks and furniture inspired to Mao. The interior design plays with pieces of design between the modern, the ancient and the socialist and the spiritual.
