Istanbul is a city constantly changing the economy is exploding and new reference points for contemporary design are continually springing out. One of the protagonists of this transformation is Autoban, a study of thirty-two designers internationally renowned. One of the latest projects of Autoban in Instanbul is the Gaspar Restaurant.
Gaspar borns from restoration of an ancient typography. The philosophy and all materials recall the streets of the ancient quarter Karakoy, animated by old shops and hardware stores. The main concept that animates the project is the Wunderkammer, idea originated in Europe in the sixteenth century, which brings together objects difficult to categorize.
The disposition of the objects is studied according to the Knolling method which uses the formation of right angles and parallel lines. The arrangement of the elements, carefully thought out creates stratifications of colors, materials and levels giving the impression of introducing a box in which precious objects are exposed.
