Robert Indiana is the author of "Love" and "Hope" that he defines as
"sculptural poems". Among the most persuasive figures of American Pop
Art, the artist offers a kind of art easy to interpret, close to the
masses, which is responsible for a strong social message. It strives to
offer a daily art which uses graphic styles from advertising and
signposting that characterize contemporary America.

Eight sculptures and fifteen serigraphs recently realized part of the series "Hope" will be hosted by the Contini Gallery in Venice until 21 July 2013. The works of Indiana have exhibitions on four continents, but very few have been up to now the opportunity for exposure in Italy. The three-dimensionality and the brilliance of the colors of the works are expressed in a wide variety of materials, such as paper, aluminum, canvas and plastic.
The gallery space seems invaded by the size of the
sculptures that demonstrate the ability to exist in a dimension between
commercial art and existentialism.
