Until June 30, La Sucrière of Lyon hosts Emotions, exhibition dedicated to the works of Erwin Olaf. The exposed works, made between 2001 and 2012, are designed to transport the viewer in the particular, quiet, thoughtful world of the artist.

Olaf began his artistic career in the '80s in Amsterdam, the geographical location plays a role of fundamental importance in his works that seem to revisit colors, dispositions and feelings from Flemish painting.
In his works, the artist hidden worlds through stylized taboos, social conventions and bourgeois imaginary. The aesthetic intuition allows him to hide the themes behind a unconventional style that brings the viewer with a poignant visual and emotional impact and unconsciously brings out the deeper issues by offering his unique vision of contemporary life.
