


Carla Accardi is one of the most representative artists of the
postwar Italian. His artistic career began in 1950 with an exhibition at
the Galleria Numero in Florence. Pioneer of feminism and convinced
abstractist uses a painting of “signs” that knows only the black and
white.


Only after 1962, Accardi reintroduces the color in his works that increasingly approach to the concrete art. The desire to investigation on the environment takes the form of a series of artworks in which she works on plastic substrates with paints, large bed sheets with repeated geometric shapes and Rolls and transparent works.



During his career, Carla Accardi has participated in numerous international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and the Roman exhibition of the Gallery Spazio Individualità d'oggi alongside artists such as Burri, Fontana, Capogrossi and Klein and organizes numerous solo in the largest cities of the world. Among the latest exhibitions, in 2005, she exposed with a monographic exhibition at the MACRO in Rome, at the Museo Bilotti in Rome (2010) and the Puglisi Cosentino Foundation of Catania (2011) where was proposed the floor sound produced in collaboration with the singer Gianna Nannini.
