The house of photography Deichtorhallen of Hamburg hosts until January 26, 2014 a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the great artist Guy Bourdin. For the first time there are works from the director's personal photographer.
The unpublished works more intimate are Polaroids, sketches and annotations that explore in an innovative way the complicated processes that have come to life in the mind of the artist during his career, and which thus influenced his art and his works.
In over forty years of career, fashion works in black and white and color images of Guy Bourdin were used as a manifesto of his thought constantly poised between fiction surreal and striking aesthetics. Every picture hides a story that is told with methods that result in a break with the conventions of the past and give new life to commercial photography.
