Oblix Restaurant is the latest creation by Rainer Becker, founder of venues like Zuma, Roka and Shochu Lounge. After more than a decade, Becker moves away from the tradition of Japanese cuisine to approach a style totally New Yorker. Oblix, restaurant and lounge bar, opens its doors to the thirty-second floor of the Shard, offering a breathtaking views of the London skyline.
The interior design is the work of Claudio Silvestrin, which, through the use of color tones and materials that are extremely natural, tried to create a warm and well anchored to ground ambience, in spite of the particular position. Sandstone, brown porphyry, bronze, copper, ebony and leather trim fit together like water, earth and fire being composed in solid geometric figures.
Silvestrin gives to warm and cozy atmosphere a revolutionary touch,
studying access for customers through the kitchen, which allows guests
to immerse themselves completely in the tastes, colors and smells that
accompany them on their culinary journey full of design.
