The Japanese studio Nendo has created a series of boutiques for the fashion brand New Yorker Theory. The nine stores so far made, including two in California, two in London and the other in London, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Osaka are all designed based on the same design concept.

The interior layout, essentially monochromatic, directs the movement of customers by comparing it to the flow of traffic on a road network and the garments hang from dark geometric frames. The environment is made more comfortable by the use of materials that seem stolen from a New Yorker loft. The basic concept adheres to the philosophy of the brand that is based on simplicity and functionality.

The exhibition tables and products are displayed as a series of junctions so as to create a clear detachment between the spaces. The area dedicated to the dressing room is bigger than usually to allow customers to pay more attention to their choices without being disturbed by the flow of the other people inside the store.
