"Movie" and "Shanghai" were the only directions given to the Director, Tilman Thürmer, for the realization of the space of the Shanghai Film Museum. The project has the aim of celebrating the art of film during the 16th International Exhibition Film de Shanghai with a journey through history and technological evolution.
The approach is minimalist, but at the same time full of vintage and futuristic glamor allusions that draw the viewer into the typical atmosphere of cinema masterpieces from the first film in black and white to 4D. The route presents seventy interactive installations that follow the making of a film from the first sketch to the Red Carpet.
The central theme chosen by Thürmer is a journey characterized by great contrasts: light and shadow, light and dark. The red carpet of perfectly aligned bulbs has been wanted by the artistic director as a guide for visitors in this world that looks like a real factory of dreams.
